Established in 1938, it serves as the sole community-owned health system in Gunnison County, providing comprehensive healthcare services to the local community and surrounding areas. The hospital is governed by a seven-member Board of Trustees appointed by the Gunnison County Commissioners and is licensed by the State of Colorado.

My sister was admitted to Gunnison Valley Health with a painful pelvic fracture that she suffered after a skiing fall. The care from the Drs, Nurses, PT, OT , social worker and throughout the staff was exemplary. They did everything they could to make her stay comfortable while she healed enough to get on a plane to fly East. Thank you GVH for being at the top of your game!
