The Jánoshalma Ambulatory Hospital-Medical Care Center was built as a result of the collaboration of six neighboring settlements, as one of the most serious investments in the region to date. The leaders of the settlements of Borota, Hajós, Kéleshalom, Mélykút, Rém and Jánoshalma aimed to provide high-quality specialized medical care within 20 minutes for a total of 22 thousand residents living in the area. Previously, people living here had to travel for several hours to receive proper medical treatment.

As a first step in the collaboration, the bodies of the six mentioned settlements agreed in February 2008 to establish a 100% municipally owned non-profit company with headquarters in Jánoshalma for the purpose of implementation, maintenance and operation. The Jánoshalma body then decided on the location for the project.
The decisive factor in this was that the specialist provider should be approximately the same distance from the two pharmacies operating in Jánoshalma, be close to educational institutions for the protection of children, and not be far from the local railway and bus stations for the convenience of the residents of the surrounding settlements.
The application submitted by the Jánoshalma Local Government Office was supported from the very beginning by the Bács-Kiskun County Government, which greatly assisted in its successful assessment.

The demolition of the old building on the construction site began in May 2009, and the public procurement procedure for the construction was announced in the spring of 2009. The most favorable offer was submitted by Modinvest Kft., based in Kiskunhalas, thus winning the task of the construction company, and construction began.
