About Us
The 5 de Outubro Hospital was founded by the mining company Vale and opened on October 5, 2006, the date on which the emancipation of Canaã dos Carajás is celebrated, and which gave rise to the name of the unit. The hospital is the only private hospital healthcare provider in the city. It provides services in low and medium complexity specialties. The 5 de Outubro Hospital has important certifications that attest to the quality of its services. These include: Certificate by the Quality Program (PNQ) of the Federal Nursing Council (COFEN), which attests to the quality of care; ONA 2 certification – Fully Accredited; and Green Kitchen certification, for good sustainable practices, such as the full use of food and encouraging healthy eating among customers and employees. Located in the southeast region of the state of Pará, the unit was designed to support the operations of the Sossego Mine and, later, to implement the S11D project.
