It serves as a regional reference for hospital care, providing services to patients from São Sebastião and the entire Litoral Norte region, especially during peak tourist seasons. The hospital is primarily funded through the SUS (Brazilian Unified Health System) and also serves private and supplementary health patients. HCSS manages the main hospital, the UPA Centro (24h Emergency Care Unit), and the Hospital de Clínicas da Costa Sul, ensuring comprehensive coverage for urgent and elective medical needs .
