The Hospital de Praia Brava was inaugurated between 1974 and 1975 and is managed by the FEAM (Eletronuclear Foundation for Medical Assistance), an independent private foundation established by Eletronuclear.
FEAM is fully responsible for managing the hospital, with oversight from the Public Prosecutor's Office of the State of Rio de Janeiro.
In 2024, Eletronuclear allocated approximately R$ 40.5 million for the operation of FEAM, in addition to nearly R$ 12 million for managing the Ionizing Radiation Medical Center (CMRI).
