Established in 1986, Hospital Distrital Gonzaga Mota da Barra do Ceará, commonly known as Gonzaguinha da Barra, is a secondary-level public hospital managed by the Fortaleza Municipal Health Department. It serves as a reference hospital for 12 basic health units in the region, providing comprehensive healthcare services with a focus on maternal and child health.​
