Hospital Federal dos Servidores do Estado (HFSE) is one of Brazil’s most traditional public hospitals, located in the Saúde neighborhood, central Rio de Janeiro. The hospital is renowned for its comprehensive care in medium and high complexity, offering over 45 specialized services, including high-risk maternity, pediatric oncology, neurosurgery, and infectious disease treatment. HFSE has a rich tradition in medical education and research, being a pioneer in establishing a medical residency program and a center for studies. The hospital’s facilities span 107,000 m², with a strong commitment to teaching, research, and public service. In November 2024, HFSE began a process of integration with Hospital Universitário Gaffrée e Guinle, in partnership with Ebserh and Unirio, to further strengthen its academic and service roles.
