About Us :

Founded on April 10, 1990, the Hospital Geral do Estado da Bahia (HGE) is the largest public trauma center in the state of Bahia. It specializes in high-complexity emergency care and handles a significant number of trauma and burn cases. In 2016, the hospital expanded with the opening of HGE 2, adding over 14,000 sq meters of space with advanced units for transplant surgery, burn care, and imaging. HGE is also a recognized center for teaching and research in public healthcare.
