This health institution was founded on September 1, 1950, under the name Sanatorio Licona, thanks to the great vision and initiative of the late, well-remembered Dr. José María Licona Ramírez. After analyzing the events of his time and those of society, he considered the idea of providing the city with a hospital with all the necessary medical equipment for that era.
