The Hospital Macrorregional Dra. Ruth Noleto is a state-run facility managed by the Empresa Maranhense de Serviços Hospitalares (EMSERH). Inaugurated in 2016, it serves as a regional reference for high-complexity medical care, including oncology, intensive care, and specialized surgical procedures. The hospital operates under a "closed-door" model, receiving patients referred through the Central de Regulação.
