Hospital Santa Catarina de Blumenau (HSC Blumenau) was founded on June 27, 1920, by the Lutheran Community and began as a 50-bed facility. Today, it is a modern hospital with 21,000 m² of built area, offering 152 beds, including 20 Adult ICU beds, 10 Neonatal and Pediatric ICU beds, 18 Mental Health Clinic beds, and 15 en-suite rooms. The hospital is staffed by around 1,000 employees (40% nursing staff) and 400 physicians across 46 specialties. HSC Blumenau performs approximately 3,500 urgent care consultations, 750 inpatient admissions, and 600 surgeries each month.
