About Us

Huggins Hospital is a 25-bed, non-profit community hospital designated as a Critical Access Hospital. Huggins Hospital endeavors to offer the best of two worlds - the warmth and friendliness of a small town and the technical expertise of modern medicine. Located in Wolfeboro, NH, we provide primary care, diagnostic testing and specialty services in the region. Huggins provides medical services to the region’s year-round population of 30,000 residents and approximately 120,000 seasonal residents and visitors who come from all over the world to enjoy the Eastern Lakes Region and the communities of: Alton, Brookfield, Effingham, Freedom, Madison, Moultonborough, New Durham, Ossipee, Sanbornville, Sandwich, Tamworth, Tuftonboro, Wolfeboro and surrounding towns.

The hospital and our professional medical staff have a reputation for excellence in primary care, inpatient and outpatient surgery, medical imaging and diagnostics, gynecology, orthopedics, pediatrics, physical therapy, cardiac and occupational rehabilitation and emergency services.

At Huggins Hospital, we are part of the community we serve. We know that we can only achieve our vision by working collaboratively with our community to provide the care the community needs in a coordinated, seamless way.

A focus on compassion, concern, and quality of care for each individual complements a strong clinical presence at Huggins.

Huggins serves any patients regardless of their ability to pay. Each year, we provide hundreds of thousands of dollars' worth of free community care, offering health care to those who could not afford to pay and those who are under insured.
