1. I was in SSU (short stay unit) due to attempted unalive for 4 days and everything was great. Initially i did feel like its a prison bc everything was grilled up and you have no freedom but afterwards I realise its just that i have simpler choices to make. I was able to spend my time reflecting better. The toilets were clean, shower got hot water. Give soap toothbrush toothpaste all complete. Boring la but thats the best time to think. Can jot down thoughts. Recuperate. I am very very thankful to the nurses, doctors and even the patients there who made the days a bit more tolerable. It meant a lot to me.
Even before my stay, my experience with my dr and my psychotherapist has been going well. Its been a year and recently I changed my meds to suit my routine better. Thank you imh. I will try my best not to be in the wards again! π
2. The Doctors and Nurses are very helpful and go to their extra mile .
Hougang Chalet Doctors were very understanding especially the Indian Doctors
Some Patients are hard to deal with , working in imh , its not easy .Only when u come in and stay , u can see how the environment its like , Some Ppl look down on mental illness Patients , they cannot understand how we are affected .
3. First visit to IMH for a diagnosis and ngl the receptionist was very forward in asking if I had suicidal thoughts that day but I guess that’s just part of her job. Dr Ong Jun Yan was super patient and understanding throughout my session and provided me with the medication and therapy contact for my condition. Billing was smooth as well (majority of my bill could be paid with medisave). Even though the wait for a little longer than usual (i did have an appointment), I think the entire process was rather fuss free and the doctors and nurses were very sensitive and friendly(:
