Our hospital is an acute care hospital with strong ties to the local community, with over 500 outpatients visiting every day and over 2,500 ambulance transports annually. Not only does it play a part in the local medical care of Sendai, but it also accepts patients from all over the prefecture for perinatal care and orthopedic treatment.

　This year marks the 100th anniversary of the opening of our hospital. Previously, it was located in Shimizu-koji near Sendai Station, but in 1982, it moved to the Yagiyama area when Sendai City Hospital moved to the neighboring site, where it remains to this day. Last year, a basic agreement was reached between the Japanese Red Cross Society and Miyagi Prefecture to integrate our hospital with the Miyagi Cancer Center. Both hospitals have significantly deteriorated facilities and equipment, and there is a strong desire to build a new hospital. On the other hand, a location far from the current location has been presented as a possible site for the new hospital after the integration, and the difficult task of integrating organizations with different parent organizations awaits. In addition, our hospital faces management challenges, and a major improvement in current management is essential for our survival.
