It is operated under a public-private partnership with Kaohsiung Medical University (KMU) and serves as the first ROT (Return on Investment) municipal hospital in Taiwan. The hospital was accredited as a "New Teaching Hospital" within one year of its establishment and received an "Excellent" rating in the New Hospital Accreditation by the Taiwan Joint Commission in the same year, setting a record for the shortest time to achieve this status in Taiwan.
