About Us

Our hospital was opened in 1952 as "Horonan Hospital" with 154 beds and a focus on tuberculosis prevention. Since then, we have grown alongside the local community, expanding our facilities in line with the development of the city of Sapporo, and in 2006, we underwent a completely new construction and were renamed " KKR Sapporo Medical Center." In 2009 , we were certified as a regional cancer treatment coordination base hospital, and in 2010 , we were certified as a regional medical support hospital, and we are currently a general hospital with 410 beds that provides medical care for the local community.

The main pillars of our medical practice are cancer treatment and emergency medical care. As a core hospital in the region, we are equipped with advanced medical equipment and specialized medical departments, and many medical departments work together to provide comprehensive medical care to patients, not as one disease, but as one person with various medical conditions and living environments. While we focus on advanced treatments and palliative care in cancer treatment, we also strive to improve emergency medical care, aiming to create a society where working generations, children, and school-age children can live in peace. In this super-aging society, we provide medical care to patients with multiple chronic diseases with the goal of maintaining and improving their quality of life ( QOL ) and alleviating their diseases, and we value a supportive attitude.

This is my impression after being hospitalized for a while and being cared for. First of all, I would like to say that it was a wonderful hospital. The doctors, nurses, rehabilitation, and other staff I worked with were all very friendly and warm-hearted, so I was able to spend my time without anxiety. I am grateful to the nurses in the ward for their constant attention to detail, allowing me to receive stress-free and worry-free treatment. As for the hospital facilities, there are some parts that feel a little old, but they are well-maintained and clean. There is a 7-Eleven on the 1st floor, so there will be little inconvenience during your stay in the hospital. The outpatient clinic is crowded, so even if you have made a reservation, the waiting time may be relatively long. Please note that the parking lot is a little difficult to find and may be a bit confusing for first-time visitors. One thing that bothered me a little was the overall feeling of being understaffed. It seemed like there was a huge burden on each staff member, so I thought that if that was improved a little more, it would be an even better environment. It's a large hospital with a large number of staff and patients, so I think it can't be helped that some people have unpleasant experiences like other reviews have said. This is just my personal opinion, so maybe I just happened to be blessed with a good person. My impression is that the hospital has a wonderful environment where you can receive sufficient medical care and face your own illness with little anxiety.
