I was seen by Dr Natalia Velez in the ER recently. She showed a genuine concern for my well being. She thoroughly explained her diagnosis and treatment plan to me. She consulted two associates regarding my condition and facilitated an "urgent" referral to a specialist. Dr Velez 's care, compassion and skill helped me be at ease during a stressful experience..... I felt well taken care of. I am grateful that Dr Velez was my tending physician in the ER. I want to thank the nursing staff and doctors at KCH. From the security guards to the surgeon, everyone was friendly, helpful, and efficient. Yes the wait was long but I would expect that from a busy ED serving such a large area. Once brought to a bed in back the nurse was so kind, tests performed timely, and results presented by the physician. I would have never thought I would need an emergency surgery while on vacation so thank you for making a stressful and scary experience better. I couldn’t have asked for better care than what I experienced.
