Since 1913, when Dr. Wang Tongzhong founded Rensheng Hospital, the predecessor of Guangtian General Hospital, it has been managed diligently by three generations of presidents, including Dr. Wang Yulin and Dr. Wang Naihong. Over the past 100 years, it has been paving the way for the health of the people in central Taiwan. To date, it has more than 1,300 beds and more than 1,900 employees. Its related systems include: Hongguang University of Science and Technology, Hongguang Geriatric Hospital, Qingquan Hospital, Tongxiao Guangtian, etc.

In 1967, when there was an extreme shortage of nursing staff, Dr. Wang Yu-lin founded the "Hongguang Nursing School", which was the cradle for nurturing Taiwan's nursing talents and a great contribution to Taiwan's medical development. It also opened up the "Hongguangtian" system for close exchanges and industry-university cooperation in the fields of educational talents, clinical medicine, and teaching research.

Guangtian has a strong medical team, 24 designated specialties, and 44 sub-specialties based on medical expertise and medical business development; in order to implement a patient-centered approach and establish a cross-disciplinary diagnosis and treatment mechanism, a full range of medical care centers have been established, such as: Cancer Center, Cardiovascular Care Center, and Otolaryngology Care Center.
