Founded in 1955, Maternidade Odete Valadares (MOV) is part of the Fhemig (Hospital Foundation of the State of Minas Gerais) network. It specializes in women's health and newborn care. MOV is renowned for its high-risk pregnancy services, premature infant care, Human Milk Bank, and recently, the addition of a Fetal Medicine Unit. With over 70 years of history, the hospital combines medical excellence with compassionate care.

In 2024 alone, the hospital served nearly 21,000 patients in emergency care, conducted over 23,000 outpatient consultations, more than 7,000 hospitalizations, 1,000+ surgeries, and 3,210 childbirths. It is especially known for its care of premature infants and support for breastfeeding through its milk bank services.
