South Health Campus (SHC) is a large hospital in Calgary, in Alberta, Canada. It is administered by Alberta Health Services.
The building was developed by Alberta Infrastructure, and the first phase was built at a cost of $1.31 billion. The South Health Campus was fully operational by 2016. It has the capacity to handle 800,000 ambulatory visits per year, and it performs approximately 2,500 births every year. It includes a 24-hour emergency department, an intensive care unit (ICU), as well as day surgery units. Services are provided for a wide range of acute and chronic health conditions. The facility currently serves 200,000 outpatients annually.

My mom was taken great care of in the Emergency department by the doctor and the nursing staff yesterday. She has dementia, and she can be extremely difficult to help. I sincerely do not know how they do what they do, everyday, with such kindness, understanding, compassion, and care. My mom received amazing care. Dr. Fray (?) was super. He was the very best communicator! I am not medical, and he spoke to me on a level I could understand. He called me twice! Himself! Fantastic care, and excellent communication. I believe my mom received excellent care, from Jocelyn and the whole Team. I know it's easy to provide negative feedback, but I believe it is more important to tell people when they are doing really good work, that affects people in a positive way.
