Middlesboro ARH Hospital, opened in 1956, is a 96-bed acute care facility in Bell County, Kentucky, serving southeastern Kentucky, northern Tennessee, and southwestern Virginia. It is part of Appalachian Regional Healthcare (ARH), the region’s largest health system. The hospital offers a full range of inpatient and outpatient services, including emergency care, behavioral health, infusion, cardiac catheterization, diabetes care, and home medical equipment. I went to the ER the other night around 11:00 PM with heart palpitations. The staff was extremely proficient and friendly. They ushered me back right away and made me feel cared for. I didn't get the name of the young lady that took my vitals but she was wonderful. She even made drawing blood almost painless, and only had to try one time. When Dr Proffitt came in, he reassured me that my heart was okay and not being damaged. He took time to answer my questions and gave me his recommendations. My relief was palpable. Thank you to a tremendous staff! Those are the reasons I give ARH ER five stars.
