Mt. Edgecumbe Medical Center (MEMC) is a operational healthcare facility located in Sitka, Alaska. It serves as a 25-bed Critical Access Hospital offering a comprehensive range of medical services, including emergency care, primary care, behavioral health, dental services, obstetrics, optometry, and transitional care. MEMC is part of the Southeast Alaska Regional Health Consortium (SEARHC), a non-profit organization dedicated to serving the health interests of Southeast Alaska residents.

The hospital's Emergency Department operates as a Level IV Trauma Center, staffed 24/7 by board-certified physicians and specialized medical professionals trained to handle serious illnesses and injuries.

Unfortunately I had to leave the cruise ship dued to medical issue. Being a Canadian in an American hospital was definitely not something I planned on. The staff were super nice from the Emerg treatment, to the staff doing test and staff that took care of my for my 21/2 day Stay. I was treated really well, considering the last overnight stay in a hospital was 1988. The surgeon explained everything to me, the nursing staff were a delight to have just random conversations.
