The National Health Mission (NHM) was launched on 12th April 2005 as the National Rural Health Mission (NRHM) and later subsumed the National Urban Health Mission (NUHM) in 2013. It is implemented by the Ministry of Health and Family Welfare (MoHFW), Government of India. The mission focuses on strengthening healthcare infrastructure, improving service delivery, and ensuring equitable access to healthcare services across the country.
