The IJN was first established in 1984 by a few Cardiologists and General Physicians and was situated at the GHKL's old BLOOD BANK office, and the current IJN's logo was created in the same year of 1984. IJN later moved to its current location in 1992.

• The institute is staffed by a well-experienced and trained team of cardiologists, pediatric cardiologists, surgeons, anaesthesiologists, paramedics, and clinical support staff.
• The medical staff comprises nearly 22 consultants cardiologists and senior cardiologists who are well-versed in their medical specialty.
• They have expertise in performing a high volume of coronary angiograms and coronary interventions (angioplasty and stenting) annually.
