About Us :

Northern Light Mercy Hospital is an acute care, non-profit hospital located in Portland, Maine. Established in 1918, the hospital has been serving the greater Portland community for over a century. As a sponsored ministry of the Sisters of Mercy of the Americas, the hospital carries out the healing work of Christ by providing clinically excellent, compassionate healthcare for all, with special concern for the poor and disadvantaged. The hospital advocates for a society in which all can realize their full potential and achieve the common good, giving priority to those that society often ignores.

I wanted to recognize the exceptional care we received when we brought our 9 month old into the ER on 4/4. She had a crush injury to her finger and we were terrified as first time parents. Dr Hoffman was incredible, interacted with our baby in such a caring way and took the time to thoroughly explain everything to my husband and I. He even took the time to come back to the room and give her a teddy bear to leave with. All the staff and nurses were wonderful but I will never forget Dr Hoffman
