Our center moved to a new building in October 2002 with 60 beds and has had no beds since April 2011. Our medical equipment is now in its 18th year and is due for renewal. We are currently maintaining the equipment while checking the condition of each piece of equipment and considering the future role of the medical center. We have a limited budget and it is not always easy to get things done as we would like, but we were able to update our CT (Computer Tomography) equipment at the end of March last year.
Currently, there is one full-time surgeon and one full-time internal medicine doctor. Due to the shortage of doctors, we are receiving support from doctors in the fields of internal medicine, gastroenterology, neurosurgery, orthopedics, pediatrics, and dermatology from the Prefectural Central Hospital and the Shiwa Regional Medical Center, who provide medical care as specialists while also acting as "family doctors" for chronic diseases such as hypertension, diabetes, and dyslipidemia. An increasing number of patients have undergone detailed examinations and surgery at the Central Hospital, and after their treatment is completed, they are prescribed medicine by our center as their "family doctor" and undergo regular examinations at the Central Hospital. We are also actively involved in providing specific health guidance after cancer screenings and metabolic syndrome screenings to promote the health of local residents.
