The Kostanay Regional Oncology Dispensary was opened in August 1959 in an adapted barrack-type building, where initially only outpatient appointments for cancer patients and dispensary observation were conducted.
In 1969, the regional oncology dispensary was given the building on ul. Sotsialisticheskaya, 2, built for the Research Institute of Agriculture. New departments were opened on the new premises: a surgical department with 60 beds, later 75, a gynecological department with 40 beds, and a radiological department initially with 6, then 40 beds.
In 1989, a new surgical building and a standard food block were put into operation. The surgical service expanded to 180 beds and specialized in: thoracic oncology - 40 beds, abdominal oncology - 60 beds, general oncology - 60 beds. The radiological department expanded to 60 beds. An anesthesiology department with an intensive care unit for 6 beds was opened. A gynecology department with 40 beds continued
to operate. In 1990, another 2-storey building was commissioned. The first seriously ill care department with 20 beds in the Republic of Kazakhstan was opened. In the same year, the Kostanay Regional Oncology Dispensary, by order of the Ministry of Health of the Kazakh SSR, was transformed into the Kostanay Interregional Oncology Center, which served cancer patients from three regions: Kostanay, Turgay and North Kazakhstan.
