Established in 1907 and opened to the public in 1910, PGH is the largest modern government tertiary hospital in the Philippines, serving over 600,000 patients annually. It is the national referral center for tertiary care and a key training institution affiliated with the University of the Philippines Manila.

Sure it's a public hospital but just so you know a lot of people died here waiting in the emergency room because of the unprofessionalism and lack of empathy to the patients. Doctors and nurse will accommodate you for 2-4 hours of waiting and when you ask them questions they will either be irritated and snob you. It's funny how this hospital still being visited by others Never ever go to public hospital when there's an emergency go to private hospitals. PGH they won't even accommodate you even if your relative or someone you know is already dying.
