Piedmont Newton Hospital, located in Covington, Georgia, is a 103-bed, acute-care community hospital serving Newton County and surrounding communities for over 60 years. The hospital offers 24-hour emergency services, women's services, a Level II Neonatal Intensive Care Unit (NICU), an intensivist-staffed Intensive Care Unit (ICU), and general medical/surgical services. In May 2019, a $10 million expansion and renovation of the Emergency Department doubled its capacity from 16 to 32 beds, added an additional nurses' station, and created a room for higher acuity trauma cases. ​
