The ESE Hospital Universitario de Santander is a public institution of departmental order, providing medium- and high-complexity healthcare services with quality standards. In fulfilling its mission, it seeks to continually improve its care processes in pursuit of the implementation of the superior quality standards established in the Single Accreditation System.

The ESE Hospital Universitario de Santander is an institution dedicated to contributing to improving the quality of life of the community in northeastern Colombia through the work of a qualified team, with technological support, a transparent administrative process, and a commitment to academia, supported by research and knowledge generation.

Currently, the ESE Hospital Universitario de Santander provides seven medium- and high-complexity healthcare services. Its structure consists of an 11-story building with a capacity of 384 beds, distributed between inpatient, observation, outpatient, emergency, operating, and delivery rooms. Patients are admitted to these rooms requiring diagnosis and treatment in the various medical and surgical specialties.

The adult intensive care unit has 12 beds, and the neonatal and pediatric units have 8 beds. It also has a modern burn care unit with capacity for 13 adults and 8 pediatric units, each with state-of-the-art monitoring equipment. Patients remain under the care of the best medical and scientific team to ensure the best personalized care.
