SBDPLR Kotel, officially the "Specialized Hospital for Long-Term Treatment and Rehabilitation - Kotel" EOOD, was established in 1953 as a children's sanatorium for bone and joint tuberculosis. Over the decades, it evolved into a specialized facility for post-treatment, long-term care, and rehabilitation for both children and adults suffering from neurological, joint, and musculoskeletal diseases, as well as conditions of the central and peripheral nervous system. The hospital serves patients nationwide, with significant patient flows from Varna, Dobrich, Burgas, Sliven, Yambol, Shumen, and Targovishte. It is a cornerstone of the Kotel community, providing permanent employment to over 60 people, most of whom are local specialists.
