Sendai Kosei Hospital was established in 1943 by the Life Insurance Welfare Association with the goal of eradicating tuberculosis. After the war, in October 1945, it was reorganized as the Welfare Association, a foundation with the goal of supporting research at the then Tohoku University Institute of Mycobacterial Diseases, and at the same time, the business of Sendai Kosei Hospital was inherited.
For over half a century since then, we have been researching and treating diseases in keeping with the changing needs of the times, while also changing and abolishing medical departments in response to changes in the disease structure.
In January 1996, the previous hospital was completed in Hirose-machi, and medical treatment began, with the establishment of a new "Cardiovascular Center." In March 2002, with the completion of a new administration building, we expanded the Cardiovascular Center Intensive Care Unit, expanded the Respiratory Intensive Care Unit, and established a new Respiratory Intensive Care Unit and Gastroenterological Surgery Department. In July of the same year, we began preparations to apply for approval as a Regional Medical Support Hospital, established a Regional Medical Cooperation Office, and in October we launched new Respiratory Center, Gastroenterological Center, and Diabetes and Metabolism Center, and began recruiting registered physicians.

My father's arrhythmia didn't go away even with medication, so I called him at night and he took care of it. The inside of the hospital is very beautiful, spacious, clean, and has a luxurious feel! The receptionist, nurses, and doctors were all really kind and courteous. At larger hospitals, the response can sometimes be cold, but everyone who dealt with us was wonderful. I am grateful for the explanation that gave my father a sense of security. thank you very much.

The other day, my mother took care of me. While he was visiting Sendai from Aomori Prefecture, his condition suddenly deteriorated and he was rushed to the hospital. Was it the heart he was suffering from at first? At the emergency department, a female cardiologist examined the patient, but as a result of various tests, it was determined that she had severe pneumonia, so she was immediately replaced by a respiratory physician and was placed on a ventilator. Anyway, the tests at the emergency department were quick, and the cardiologist who treated me was quick to make a decision. The respiratory medicine doctor who took over my job was very thorough and easy to understand, and he responded quickly and in a gentlemanly manner. My mother passed away three days after being rushed to the hospital, but thanks to Dr. Shimizu and the nurses, she was saved. I have nothing but gratitude. thank you very much.
