Shree Indore Cloth Market Hospital was started in the year 1973 as a dispensary with the cooperation of cloth merchants of Indore Cloth Market Merchant Association where outdoor patients used to get their treatment done in the morning and evening. Gradually, with public cooperation and voluntary donations, a full-fledged general hospital with 100 beds was started in the year 1975. Which was inaugurated by the Former Chief Minister Shri Kailashji Joshi.

Indore's famous Dr. Santosh Kumar Mukherjee Heart Disease Research Center was established in 1977.
