Sinlau Christian Hospital, also known as Sin-Lau Hospital, is the first modern hospital in Taiwan, founded by Dr. James Laidlaw Maxwell of the English Presbyterian Mission in 1865. Located in Tainan City, it has a long-standing legacy of combining Western medicine with Christian medical-evangelistic values. The hospital is operated by the Presbyterian Church in Taiwan and is dedicated to holistic care, community health, and the integration of faith and medicine. Sinlau Christian Hospital is a regional teaching hospital, continuously upgrading its medical capabilities, teaching, and research, and is committed to serving the community in the spirit of its founder.
