Our hospital was established in 2002 by one city and three towns in southern Miyagi Prefecture. Although it is not large, with 310 beds, it is the only hospital in the Sennan medical district (Shiroishi City, Kakuda City, Zao Town, Shichikashuku Town, Ogawara Town, Murata Town, Kawasaki Town, Marumori Town) with a population of over 160,000 that handles advanced acute and acute phase medical care. The emergency medical center receives over 4,000 ambulances per year, and treats about 17,000 emergency patients per year, including walk-in patients. It has a medical oncology department, a respiratory surgery department, and a radiation therapy department, and is designated as a regional cancer treatment cooperation base hospital. In other words, most acute and severe cases in the Sennan medical district (plus Natori City, Iwanuma City, Watari Town, and part of Yamamoto Town) are brought to our hospital.
