Story County Public Health is administered by Mary Greeley Medical Center under contract with the Story County Board of Health. It provides a range of essential public health services to the residents of Story County, focusing on disease prevention, health promotion, and emergency preparedness. ​

The department offers various public health services, including:​

• Emergency healthcare preparedness planning and prevention 

• Response to healthcare disasters and assistance in recovery​ 

• Disease prevention, surveillance, and follow-up​ 

• Senior health services​ 

• Immunization programs​ 

• Tuberculosis (TB) control program

Story County Public Health operates under the guidelines and standards set by the Iowa Department of Health and Human Services. The Iowa Department of Public Health received national accreditation status from the Public Health Accreditation Board (PHAB) on November 20, 2018. ​
