In 2007, the Hungarian Ministry of Health decided to discontinue active inpatient care at the Sárvári Önkormányzati Kórház (Sárvár Municipal Hospital). Subsequently, the hospital transitioned to focus on rehabilitation and chronic care, operating with a capacity of 201 beds, including 62 psychiatric rehabilitation beds located in Simaság. The rehabilitation center received significant support, including a 791 million HUF grant from the European Union and the Hungarian State, to enhance its infrastructure and services. This transformation aimed to provide specialized rehabilitation in areas such as oncology, gynecology, gastroenterology, and rheumatology .
