In order to improve the problem of insufficient medical resources in the former Beimen medical sub-area of ​​Tainan City (including Annan District, Beimen District, Anding District, etc.), on October 23, 2009, the Tainan City Government announced the bidding for the Tainan Municipal Annan Hospital's build-operate-transfer (BOT) project. On March 12, 2010, China Medical University won the best applicant; and on June 23 of the same year, China Medical University and the Tainan City Government signed a contract to start the 50-year construction and operation of Tainan Municipal Annan Hospital, and held a groundbreaking ceremony on August 6 of the same year. Construction began on March 30, 2011, and in less than two years, the construction of the first and second medical buildings, the installation of various equipment, the recruitment and training of various medical and management personnel, and other important tasks were completed. On February 2, 2013, the operation officially began, demonstrating the high efficiency of China Medical University.
