Tainan Municipal Hospital is the first Rehabilitate-Operate-Transfer (ROT) hospital in Taiwan, marking a pioneering business model for public-private partnership in hospital management. Its origins trace back to the early 1970s, when local leaders recognized the need for improved medical care for Tainan residents. Officially opened on June 8, 1988, after extensive planning and renovation, the hospital has since become a benchmark for community healthcare and a regional teaching hospital. It is located in Tainan City's 4th Replanning District and is operated by the Show Chwan Health Care System.
