The Songde branch of Taipei City United Hospital is located in Butterfly Pond of Lugong Canal. It is quiet and remote. It overlooks the Elephant Mountain in the southeast, and the wind and clouds are changing. It is close to Xinyi City in the northwest. The hospital was founded in 1969. Its predecessor was the Taipei City Sanatorium founded by President Ye Yingkun. Its English name was Taipei City Psychiatric Center. It later became the first psychiatric hospital and psychiatric teaching hospital in Taiwan. In 2005, it was reorganized and the Songde branch was merged into Taipei City United Hospital. The hospital has been established for 55 years. With professionalism and service as the main thread, and teaching and research as the latitude, the hospital is diligent and honest, and has steadily developed psychiatry in an inclusive manner.

The hospital is divided into the first, second, third, and fifth campuses, providing outpatient clinics, acute and rehabilitation wards, 24-hour emergency departments, psychiatric intensive care units, day hospitalizations, community emergency medical care, and home treatment, providing integrated services based on the individual needs of citizens.
