Opened in 1992, The Kirklin Clinic of UAB Hospital is a specially designed “superclinic” for outpatient medical care, housing hundreds of physicians in nearly three dozen specialties. Today, The Kirklin Clinic of UAB Hospital is one of the busiest outpatient centers in America and is renowned for providing the most advanced health care services that are both compassionate and convenient for our patients and their families.
The Whitaker Clinic of UAB Hospital, located one block east of The Kirklin Clinic of UAB Hospital, opened in summer 2017 to accommodate growing demand for outpatient health care services. The two clinics serve more than 2,000 patients per day.
With more than 250 exam rooms and many nationally ranked specialties, The Kirklin Clinic of UAB Hospital and the Whitaker Clinic of UAB Hospital combine the latest in clinical care with teaching and research. Our staff collaborates and communicates extensively with our patients in order to deliver the ultimate patient experience and the highest quality of health services.

Our visits over the past 2 years have ran on time which is amazing due to all the patients Kirkland Clinic sees in a day. Honestly there have more times than not that we were seen EARLY! The staff at every level have been caring and helpful- for real. They understand you are an actual person and treat you like one. So many other medical places could learn from the Kirkland clinic. The doctors respect your time and appreciate that you are not feeling well. No question is off limits and get this- staff actually call you and check in to see how you are after your appointments! We had been going to Vanderbilt in Nashville and NEVER received the type of service or care. If you have a choice- Choose UAB. We are so glad we did.

There is nothing fun about having a chronic illness, and constant doctors visits.. especially when you know that you’ll have to undergo treatments for the rest of your life. But when I see Dr. Mollie Perryman, for my Subglottic Stenosis- she has a way of making me feel seen and heard. I go every 8 weeks, for a pretty invasive treatment.. and with her gentle touch, and precision I am able to walk out with minimal bruising (most of the time none at all) because that’s how good she is. Finding a Doctor you fully trust is such a rarity, I hope I get to walk through this with her as my doctor for a very long time.
