Tohoku University Hospital has contributed to the development of medical care in Japan for over 100 years. At the same time, as a key player in medical care in the Tohoku region, it has provided cutting-edge medical care and supported local medical care. As one of the first "clinical research core hospitals" to be certified in Japan, the hospital is actively conducting international-standard clinical research, drug discovery, and medical device development together with various companies, while taking advantage of its strengths as a comprehensive university. In addition, the hospital has been designated as a "core hospital for cancer genomic medicine" in cancer treatment, and is working closely with the Tohoku Medical Megabank Organization and the Graduate School of Medicine to provide advanced cancer genomic medicine.
