About Us :

UAB Medical West Emergency Department, located in Bessemer, Alabama, is a state-of-the-art Level 3 Trauma Center serving West Jefferson County and beyond. The newly opened facility (as of August 2024) features a 412,000-square-foot hospital with advanced emergency, surgical, and diagnostic capabilities. The department is staffed by board-certified emergency physicians and a multidisciplinary team, offering 24/7 care for patients of all ages and conditions. The ED emphasizes rapid triage, patient safety, and compassionate service, with seamless admission and transfer processes for critical cases

I as there last week for a random abscess. The pain was horrible. The wait wasn't overly long, compared to other facilities. The staff were all phenomenal, quick, and took great care of me. The new building is gorgeous as well!

Idk why I'm seeing so many bad reviews. I was well pleased with the entire staff during my visit. Everyone was courteous and had pleasant attitudes and I didn't wait no time to be seen. In and out at a good time. I almost didn't come to this location because of the previous reviews, but I'm so glad I took the time to find out for myself. Job well done staff. Please keep up the good work. By the way I felt really comfortable around everyone and that speak volumes.
