1. I was in this hospital on June 6 2024 for a complete hip replacement surgery. I cannot say enough good things about the nursing staff the operating room staff my surgeon all highly professional and I got the best care. I was sent home 2 days later and am very comfortable and definitely on the mend much faster than I expected. Why this hospital had such a low rating is a mystery I would have given it a 5 out of 5 except for one nurse that was on my last night there she was about as nasty as they come. She was more interested in chatting it up with her fellow nurses who in fact were not interested in her brainless stupid conversation. I needed assistance getting back into bed and she would not help me at all and literally left me in so much pain and was smiling about it. The other nurses came to my aid and helped me get comfortable again.
2. Over 18 years ago, I waddled into the emergency room some time close to midnight. I was in labour and premature. After 51 hours and many amazing nurses, I finally gave birth to my tiny girl. My labour coach, I believe was Helen Oak, and she helped me so much. I remember someone asking me if the UNBC nurses' class could come and observe. I said yes.
After my girl was born, she spent some time in the NICU. She was given a low percentage of survival. I was told to say good bye to her. The nurses and doctors were so caring and her own tenacious character helped to pull her through.
A premature baby with little chance of survival is graduating this June from Rick Hansen Secondary.
Thank you for helping my little girl live.
