About Us

The University Teaching Hospital (UTH), established in 1910 and located in Lusaka, is Zambia’s largest public hospital and its foremost center for advanced care, medical education, and research. As the country’s principal national referral institution, UTH handles a very high volume of complex cases from all over Zambia. It plays a pivotal role in training doctors, nurses, and allied health professionals, while offering care that ranges from primary to the most specialized tertiary services. The hospital is strategically situated in the Ridgeway area of Lusaka, about 4 km east of the city center, and provides both inpatient and outpatient care across all major specialties.
