About Us :

Wrangell Medical Center (WMC), located in Wrangell, Alaska, is a Critical Access Hospital and Long-Term Care Facility dedicated to serving the healthcare needs of the community and surrounding areas in Southeast Alaska. WMC offers a comprehensive range of services, including Emergency Services, Acute Care, Transitional Care, Primary Care, Long-Term Care, and various ancillary hospital and outpatient services. The Emergency Department operates as a Level IV Trauma Center, staffed 24/7 by board-certified physicians, physician assistants, nurse practitioners, and registered nurses specializing in treating serious illnesses and injuries. In 2021, WMC expanded its facilities to a 44,500 square foot space, integrating on-site primary care with critical access hospital services and long-term care, featuring a 14-bed Long-Term Care unit, an eight-bed Acute Care wing, an expanded Emergency Department, and enhanced services such as laboratory, imaging, rehabilitation, outpatient care, and pharmacy. WMC emphasizes providing safe, high-quality healthcare that puts patients first, aligning with its mission "To enhance the quality of life for all we serve" and vision "To honor our heritage and be the pride of the community."
