Jivitadana Sangha Hospital, established in May 1940 by U Ba Aye, is a charitable healthcare institution located in Yangon, Myanmar. Initially founded as the Jivitadana Dispensary, it was the first free health organization established by Myanmar’s own citizens. The hospital was inspired by the Buddhist monastic disciplinary code, emphasizing the importance of caring for the sick. Over the years, it has expanded its services and facilities, now capable of treating over 170 monks and providing specialized care with an intensive care unit.
