Dr. Andrew MacKenzie-Wood is a highly respected Dermatologist who has been providing expert care in Wollongong since 2002. He graduated in Medicine from Sydney University in 1990, and after completing his medical degree, he undertook specialized dermatology training. In 1996-7, Dr. MacKenzie-Wood served as the Dermatology Research Fellow at the Skin & Cancer Foundation in Darlinghurst, where he honed his research skills.

Dr. MacKenzie-Wood began his four-year post-graduate dermatology training program at the Australasian College of Dermatology in 1998. He gained invaluable experience working at prominent hospitals such as the Skin & Cancer Foundation, Royal Prince Alfred Hospital, St Vincent’s Hospital, Royal Newcastle Hospital, and the Prince of Wales Hospital. After completing his training in 2001, Dr. MacKenzie-Wood established his practice in Wollongong in 2002, where he has built a reputation as a trusted skin specialist.

His expertise is broad, but he has a particular interest in skin cancers. He treats all patients with care, diagnosing and providing treatment for a wide range of skin conditions, from general dermatology to complex skin cancer cases. Dr. MacKenzie-Wood is a Visiting Medical Officer at Wollongong Hospital and founded Wollongong Dermatology in 2007.

Dr. MacKenzie-Wood is also passionate about teaching. He serves as a Clinical Associate Professor at Wollongong University, where he provides lectures, tutorials, and specialized one-on-one training to medical students, dermatology registrars, and general practitioners. His warm and patient-centered approach allows him to engage with patients of all backgrounds and provide exceptional care.
