Dr Brian Clapp is an accomplished and highly skilled consultant cardiologist based in London. He holds over 25 years of experience, with extensive expertise in angiography, coronary heart disease, ASD (atrial septal defect), patent foramen ovale, interventional cardiology, and heart attack, he is dedicated to providing the highest quality care to his patients.
 
Dr Clapp's medical journey began at University College London, where he was awarded an MBBS in 1994, as well as a master's degree from the prestigious Cambridge University in the same year. Additionally, he holds a PhD from University College London, which he earned in 2005.
With a passion for teaching and sharing knowledge, Dr Clapp holds the position of senior lecturer at Guy's and St Thomas' NHS Foundation Trust. He is known for his engaging and informative approach in the talks that he gives to his fellows at GP practices.
 
Dr Clapp's sub-specialisation and research interests are both diverse and impactful. His PhD research focused on inflammation and acute coronary events, reflecting his dedication to understanding the mechanisms behind cardiac disorders. Additionally, he possesses a unique specialist interest in the intersection between diving medicine and cardiology, making him a recognised expert in this area. He is a secondary specialist with an interest in diving on the Health and Safety Executive Register.
 
Furthermore, his commitment to professional development is further exemplified by his fellowship of the Royal College of Physicians (London) and membership of the British Cardiovascular Society.
