Dr Colin French

Dr. Colin French graduated in Medicine from the University of Queensland and has since developed a diverse career in general practice, with special interests in skin cancer medicine, plastic surgery, and aviation medicine. Early in his career, he trained in plastic surgery and developed advanced skills over a 25-year period, particularly in skin cancer surgery.

Dr. French has worked in various locations both within Australia and internationally, including a notable period spent in the Royal Australian Air Force (RAAF), where he also served as an aeronautical engineer and pilot. His experience in aviation medicine and emergency medicine adds a unique dimension to his practice, where he enjoys treating children’s health and focusing on health promotion for individuals of all ages.

In addition to his clinical work, Dr. French is passionate about education and training, regularly mentoring and providing guidance to university medical students. Most recently, he has been involved in teaching medical students from Newcastle University.

Dr. French’s research experience spans the fields of aviation medicine, emergency medicine, and skin cancer surgery. His research has focused on improving the early detection and treatment of skin cancers and expanding the knowledge base for aviation medicine practices in healthcare. Dr. French continues to integrate the latest evidence-based research into his clinical practice to improve patient outcomes.
